Dr. Bud Keller earned his DVM degree from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine
in Blacksburg, Virginia in 1985 and began a 14 month internship at the world-recognized Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston,
Massachusetts. From 1987 to 1990 he studied surgery at the University of Georgia, College of Veterinary Medicine.
In 1994, Dr. Keller earned his American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) certification.
In the early spring of 2005, with 14 years of surgical practice experience in the Columbia, SC area, he founded the Carolina Surgical Care

He enjoys all areas of surgery practice, but is particularly interested in joint disorders, trauma orthopedics and reconstructive techniques.
The fundamental operating principal of Dr. Keller’s practice philosophy is “one patient at a time”. Dr. Keller offers your pet detail-oriented, compassionate, creative care guided by extensive training and surgery experience.

has been a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons since 1975. During his distinguished academic and clinical service career, he received
numerous awards while on faculty at the University of Georgia, Michigan State University and, from 1983 until 1994, at North Carolina State University. He
has lectured in the United States and Europe and has authored several book chapters, as well as co-edited a textbook on veterinary surgery. He founded VSRP in May of 1994.
His vision for VSRP was that of a unique private surgical specialty practice where each patient and client are treated as individuals. Our entire team strives each day to
actualize his vision. Dr. Betts turned over the VSRP ‘reins of ownership’ to Dr. Jack Gallagher in 2005.
Dr. Betts retired from veterinary practice in 2009, fifteen years after establishing VSRP. He serves us still as a daily inspiration for hospital operations and guides our pursuit for perfection.
